Privacy Policy
Last updated: 28 September 2026
Yourtracks is a backing-track player for gigging vocalists. This policy explains what data we collect, how we store it, and the choices you have. We've kept it in plain English because we think privacy policies shouldn't need a lawyer to translate.
1. What we collect
- Account details: your email address and a password (which is hashed and never stored in plain text), plus the performer or stage name you choose to add to your profile.
- Your music library: the titles, artists, genres, playlists, lyrics, and other details you add for each track. This is the metadata that makes the app work.
- Audio and video files: the backing-track files themselves (MP3, MP4, WAV, etc.) that you upload. These are stored on your device, not in our cloud.
- Feedback: if you choose to send feedback, we store your rating, message, and any reply email you provide.
- Payment details: if you subscribe, payment is handled by our payment provider (Base44 Payments, powered by Wix). We never see or store your card number.
2. Where your data lives
This is the important bit. Yourtracks follows a Master Device approach: your primary performance device is the source of truth, and everything lives there.
- Audio and video files stay on your device. They are never uploaded to our servers. When you play a track at a gig, it plays from local storage — no internet needed.
- Library metadata (song titles, genres, playlists, lyrics) is stored both on your device and, if you turn on cloud backup, in your own Google Drive. We use Google Drive's connector to write a backup file to your Drive account — we do not host or have access to your backup file directly.
- Account information (email, performer name) is stored securely on our platform's servers.
3. Cloud backup
Cloud backup is optional and you control it. When enabled, it backs up your library metadata only — not your audio files — to your own Google Drive. This is a recovery safety net: if you lose your device, you can restore your track list, genres, and playlists onto a new one. You'd then re-add the audio files themselves. You can turn cloud backup off or delete your backup file from your Google Drive at any time.
4. Shared setlists
If you share a setlist, we create a public link showing the song titles, your performer name, and event details. Anyone with the link can view that setlist preview. The link contains an unguessable token but is not password-protected. You can stop sharing at any time, which removes the public page.
5. Third-party services
Yourtracks uses these services, each with their own privacy policy:
- Google — for optional sign-in with Google and for Google Drive cloud backup. Google's privacy policy applies to your Google account data.
- Base44 Payments (powered by Wix) — for processing subscription payments. Your card details are handled entirely by Wix's payment infrastructure.
- Base44 — the platform that hosts and runs Yourtracks. They process and store account and app data on our behalf.
6. How we use your data
- To run the app — showing your library, playing your tracks, saving your setlists.
- To provide cloud backup and restore, when you choose to use it.
- To send service emails — like security notifications or account-deletion confirmations.
- To respond to feedback you submit, if you provide a reply email.
- To keep the app secure — we run automated checks for unusual account activity.
We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it to build marketing profiles.
7. Your rights (GDPR)
Because Yourtracks is operated from the UK, you're covered by GDPR and the UK Data Protection Act. You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Delete your account and all associated data.
- Withdraw consent for cloud backup at any time.
- Receive a copy of your data in a portable format.
Deleting your account is built right into the app — go to Settings and tap "Delete my account." The moment you confirm, all your data is permanently wiped and you're signed out. You can also request deletion by emailing us from your registered address; either way, it's completed within 30 days. See our account deletion page for the full details.
8. Data retention
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your metadata, playlists, genres, feedback, and account details are permanently removed immediately. Audio files stored on your device are cleared from that device when you delete all songs or delete your account.
9. Security
Account data is stored on secured platform servers. Each user's library data is isolated — you can only see and edit your own songs, genres, and playlists. We run weekly automated security audits that flag unusual account activity for admin review. No system is perfectly secure, but we've built Yourtracks to keep your data private to you.
10. Children
Yourtracks is designed for working adult performers. It's not intended for anyone under 16, and we don't knowingly collect data from children.
11. Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we'll change the "last updated" date at the top and, for significant changes, post an announcement in the app. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
12. Contact
Questions about your data or this policy? Use the Feedback page in the app, or email the Yourtracks team directly. We aim to respond within a few days.
